Every couple of months I like to change the signature file use in the forum. This month I used elements from a new kit by Fancy Bird Design and Snickerdoodle Designs called Misty Autumn. It’s a lovely fall colored kit

‘Tis the season for fall kits. This lovely collaboration between Fancy Bird Design and Snickerdoodle Designs has a lovely collection of elements and gorgeous background papers in rich fall colors!
The first layout I created uses one of the several beautifully colored forest background. I layered a resize of a journaling paper element for the quote, then several elements along the eft side of the page. For the right side of the journaling paper I made a selection along the background paper’s bushes using the Quick Selection tool, did a copy and paste to a new layer and moved it over the journaling paper. I liked the way it ended up!
The second layout created using the kit showcases one of the photo my son took at the Experimental farm in Ottawa. The Sunflowers in the kit reminded me of the photos he took so I went with it
Very pretty kit this week , love the vintage with a bit of grunge. The first pages has a photo blended into the background. I also blended two of the background papers, a brown stripe and yellow to tone down the yellow and show that lovely brown grungy paper.
For the second layout using this kit, I used a photo from a batch I scanned for a friend. The original photo needed some TLC to remove creases. I kept the staining at the photo edge, it fits well with the kit. I took one of the stamps that came with the kit and used it behind the photo with a color burn, then took copies and used them on the corners of the paper for a bit more interest.
This marks my 20th in a row! This one celebrates the Juncos who have just showed up for the winter.
As my luck would have it, I couldn’t score a photo of them in our backyard so I used a photo my son took (used with permission :-).
I had to flip the photo so I could place the bird on the right and do some blending to get the background to fill in the left. I used a combination of spot and patch tools to blend bits and pieces.
Then I brought in some elements from a scrapbook kit with fall colors to fill in the back where the Facebook puts the profile photo. The kit had some nice stitching which I used to frame the photo.
I used two fonts, the title is done in Subway Novella Regular and the blurb beneath it uses Alana PRO Regular. The Subway Novella Regular is a free font available at numerous font sites. Alana PRO Regular is a purchased font I got on a deal (after I promised never to buy any fonts but it was a great deal and a beautiful font:-)
The scrapbook kit I used is the same one I used last month but that’s just because I love the selection of elements and coloring in it!
